First hearing on lawsuit against Metro's decision on English-First referendum slated Thursday

The NashvillePost.com reports that a lawsuit against Metro Nashville for blocking an English-First referendum Nov. 4 will have an expedited, initial court hearing Thursday.

The Metro Election Commission voted 3-2 last month not to allow the referendum on the ballot. That decision was wrong. The court should overturn the decision and allow the referendum on the ballot this November.

Let both sides battle before voters, not the courts, concerning the issue of making English the only language for Metro operations.
