NYTIMES provides rational explanation on its coverage of Republican Palin's VP candidacy

The New York Times public editor Clark Hoyt does a great job in the nation's newspaper of record of explaining its coverage of the VP candidacy of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

It is a good read and a credit to The Times in being so open to credible criticism and responding. While I don't agree with every point, The Times still sets the standard for good journalism while other major newspapers are jettisoning their public editors.
