The presidential debate means nothing. Sen. John McCain's sealed his campaign's doom by proposing an economic recovery plan that benefits Wall Street investors -- who already have made big money -- make more in the future. He is not a change agent.
Sen. Barack Obama secured his election by proposing that Main Street households be allowed to withdrawl from their 401ks without tax penalty. That will recapitalize these households. McCain would still tax withdrawls.
Americans are willing to give their new president time to make difficult decisions. We'll accept the pain as long as things do not go this wrong again.
