As far as predicting the winner of today Vandy-Auburn game, there is no more entertaining one than the prediction on ESPN College Game Day by the old 'ball coach Lee Corso.
And minutes ago, he donned the helmet of Auburn, signaling that he believes the Tigers will beat the 'Dores.
Then he added insult by donning a UT jersey and taunting the crowd of students and fans on hand.
THE BASTARD!
UT? Are they playing football this year? Yes, but quite badly.
The crowd of young people on hand rightly exploded in boos at Corso's antics.
Kenny Chesney, a disappointed Vols' fan, was on hand and predicted a Vanderbilt victory.
Go 'Dores! You're on the verge of becoming America's sweetheart team. A university can and should educate young people along lines of excellence while also showing progress on the football field.
That's the ideal. And it should be no surprise that the ideal comes from the City on a Hill.
I predict: Vandy 17, Auburn 13. Next stop, No. 12 in the national rankings for the 'Dores.
As for Corso, hey, he coached at Indiana and didn't do much at all. He's more of an entertainer than a knowledgeable football analyst. So don't worry. Get on the Vandy bandwagon and ride it to new heights.
