Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! now won't announce intention on bailout; betrayal by Blackburn?

The Tennessean reports that "Congressman" Marsha Blackburn will not yet announce her intentions on the bailout of Wall Street fatcats now before the House of Representatives.

She voted "no" on Monday. Now the bill's cost to taxpayers has risen from $700 billion to $850 billion. Blackburn has campaigned and been elected as a fiscal watchdog. So her vote today should be a no brainer.

Democratic congresswoman Mary Kaptur gave a fiery speech a few minutes ago against the package. The Toledo representatives listened to her constituents and will vote "no" today.

I remain against the bailout even though I've lost money in supposedly save municipal bonds the past month due to the credit crunch on Wall Street. But I am prepared to pay that amount as the cost for the past 25 years of wild living.

Blackburn's uncommitted stance is difficult to understand. A recession is already here, and it is going to last through 2009 no matter what Congress does. You can't cheat economic cycles.

If taxpayer money is to be spent, then let it be returned to taxpayers as an economic stimulus, not as a bailout to Wall Street executives. I thought that was what Blackburn was all about, at least from what she has said again and again.

Pay close attention to how she votes today.
