Uh, oh, Pelosi is now speaking as vote nears

The last time on Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sabatoged her own legislation by going partisan in her speech for a supposedly non-partisan bailout of Wall Street fatcats.

Now she is speaking as a vote is about to begin on the bailout. She now claims the bailout is for older people and people losing their jobs and for states like California.

"These are the Americans we must act for today," she said. "Let us be clear. The legislation proposed by the Bush administration was unacceptable."

Pelosi is so out her element in trying to explain how this bill is not supposed to cost taxpayers. If you believe that, well, you know how that saying goes. She is not a credible leader. Congress' super low approval rate is much deserved.

It is insulting to hear Pelosi speak "for the American people". She does not represent the American people, only her constituents in San Francisco.

The economic crisis belongs with Congress that deregulated the financial industry in the 1990s and helped bail out the savings and loan industry in the 1980s.

Pelosi closed her remarks with saying "we must maintain our fiscal discipline." What hypocrisy. The debt ceiling is being raised to $11.3 trillion because of this bailout.

Now to the vote.
