The Pyramid may become tourist destination

The Pyramid, which lost its primary tenant when Memphis built a new arena for the local NBA team, may become a wildlife and outdoors-person entertainment site if Shelby County Commissioners finally vote up or down on the project.

The Memphis Commercial-Appeal today in an editorial encouraged commissioners to finally act after balking on the project for the past month.

Bass Pro is in negotiation with the city to use the Pyramid as a kind of wildlife and outdoors-person attraction. The city would spend a few dollars for renovations but nothing like Nashville when it was taken to the cleaners by the Predators and Titans.

Use of the Pyramid for this project would increase Memphis' attractiveness as a tourist destination and would be a job creator. Let's hope commissioners finally take a vote and move the project forward for consideration.
