Pacman suspended again; tragedy can still be triumph if someone or something steps up

The NFL has suspended Dallas Cowboy Adam "Pacman Jones" for four weeks for another violation of the league's personal conduct policy, costing the Tennessee Titans a fifth round draft pick.

The Titans originally drafted Jones, then traded him and his troubles to Dallas after a year-long suspension. The multi-talented Jones also is multiply troubled, with various run-ins with the law.

His latest difficulty involved a fracas with his bodyguard. The NFL got wind of it because someone called 911.

Jones' history has become most tragic. Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones says his player may not be on the field for the rest of the year. The field is where Jones has stood out. He just can't find a way to stand down off the field.

I view that as a waste of a great young talent who could teach young people how to overcome personal difficulties in their conduct.

Someone or something will need to step forward to turn this tragedy into a triumph -- not only for Jones but so many other young people on the same destructive path. They need a role model from their lives of hardknocks and wrong choices.

Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders and Emmitt Smith have their own personal ministries reaching out to those in need of conversion following adversity.

Truly, Adams "Pacman" Jones is worth saving. Armed with the grace of God, this trio should make Jones their mission.
