Newspapers getting a federal bailout? Don't be surprised if the automakers get their billions

Talk now has emerged on Wall Street that newspaper companies such as Gannett Co. Inc., should be lining up for federal aid to bail them out.

Newspaper companies whose executive makes the suits for the Big 3 look like Warren Buffet deserve no help. But the Tribune Co. shockingly filed for bankruptcy protection today. The Rocky Mountain News may soon be closed. I know two Tennessean employees who left here to go there for better fortunes.

Yes, jobs are being lost and families ruined. But there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that says an economy must be prevented from sinking into recession, even a real deep one. President-elect Obama has the right idea in creating a jobs program for public works next year. That will put the chronically unemployed back to work. But there won't be the money to help anyone else.

Yet if this nation gives any money to the newspaper companies to re-enrich Wall Street fatcats, then it will be time to let China and Walmart merchandise Mount Rushmore and the Grand Canyon out to the highest bidder.

Like a $10 gigolo, America won't really be worth a damn.

Of coarse the auto industry will get it's billions. The UAW union sank a lot of money into Obamas campaign, so now he is fighting tooth and nail to get them bailed out. It's pay back time for Obama and he is willing to American tax dollars to do it. All of this fits right in to Obamas socialist agenda where the government has it's hands in major businesses. This is only the beginning of the total collapse of capitalism.
